At least right now, image creator isn't updating the page when it's finished, it'll just stay at 'creating'. Refreshing the page seems to work

Yeah if you get a 'sorry its taking too long' popup, just copy the URL to the next tab usually does the trick.

Changing the art style can have a huge effect on the output. Certain styles will lend themselves to NSFW images more than others.

But even tossing NSFW aside, upthread I posted some images of barbarians kicking in a dungeon door. The line art ones were classic long-haired, shaggy, musclebound guys. When I switched to modern digital art, it made them look like hipsters with short hair, longer but more well-kept beards, and less outrageous muscles. All without me changing anything but the art style.
