[Dallas Gameday] Aftermath and Commentary starts on Page 10!

DonAdam,

Maybe I should run "old school" night at this event this semester. Some of the old C series are great for this type of event.

So, is anyone in this event interested in a running a classic 1st edition adventure from my vast collection? If so, I will not announce which one I pick to prevent people from picking it up on eBay.

d20Dwarf: I just noticed, you have DonAdams running the T20 game rather than me. Since he's also running another game during that slot, he's going to get really tired. :)

I know I said I wanted in before but I have this little problem.

See, it's Dallas Game Day but there doesn't appear to be any actual D&D being played. :o

I've got core books, faerun, oriental adventures, and D20 Modern. Any DM's for those?

If there is enough interest in a one nighter ``old school'' published scenario, I will run it using 3(.5)e rules. This includes things like Castanimir, Ghost Tower, Sentinel, White Plume, or anything that can be played quickly. Items like Ravenloft or Pharoah take too long for this type of thing.

I just need enough interest (at least 4-5) to make it worth while.

Velenne-I think this happens a lot at Gamedays. Since most people play D&D regularly, they look at this as a chance to bust out and try something different.

WalkerWhite- If you want to DM, tell me which slot you want and I"ll put you on the front page. Then people will be able to get into the game. I'm sure you won't have a problem attracting players!

If I make it, I will probably just play. However, it might also be fun to dust off an old 2E AD&D con tourney adventure, try to do a quick 3E conversion, and run that as a two-part (slot 1 and 2) session. Since we always reset the pregen characters at the begining of a new round, it wouldn't require that the exact same players participate in each slot.

However, I'm not sure I have time to prep something like this (I'm starting a new job next week). Plus, getting to Denton in time for the morning slot from downtown Dallas where I live will require a Will save on my part, LOL. ;)

Is anyone interested in playing a tournament style, dungeony, beat-the-clock, odds against you game of survival? It wouldn't be an actual competition, of course, since there'd only be one table. :D

Okay, I'm working on organizing the Living Greyhawk events while will be running at noon to 4:30ish and then more at 5:30 to 10:30ish. Very more than likely there could be three to four Living Greyhawk games going during each time slot. I'm working on getting DMs coordinated to specific times and modules.

If you all are interested in regular LG events in this area, come join our Talon RPGA discussion group at:

Btw, Living Greyhawk will still be 3.0 as of this game day. However, LG is going to 3.5 starting Oct. 1st.

That's great news, Talon. I was hoping someone would run some D&D in the first slot so I'd have an opportunity to play. LG is OK, I'm an RPGA member, but the only character I ever created got killed in the second adventure I participated in. Since all the 3.0 character have to be converted to 3.5 anyway, is it OK to create a 3.5 character now to use before Oct. 1?

Please put Shadoe's Lady and myself down for the Arcana Unearthed game.

Just a thought, but should we use name tags with our user names for this event? So that everyone knows who everyone else is?
