Damage Reduction/Good

Hi all,

I have read the rules regarding Damage Reduction/Good and am still a little confused. If a creature has this type of Damage Reduction, who is affected and who isn't affected. Does Good mean only weapons that are holy or good-aligned? Or is this based on a character's alignment so that good characters bypass the damage reduction. Thanks in advance

It means only weapons that are good-aligned penetrate the DR. Outsiders with the [good] subtype treat their weapons and natural attacks as good-aligned, so a hound archon could beat someone with DR X/Good up, but an aasimar or paladin could not (without special equipment).

Note that "holy" weapons are good-aligned.
