Dancing Weapons

"It fights for 4 rounds using the base attack bonus of the the one who loosed it..."

Meaning no strength modifier, no weapon focus, etc. right?

Another question, if it is using the character's base attack bonus, does it attack as many times as the character's base attack? For example, if a 12th level fighter looses a dancing weapon, does the weapon attack at +12/+7/+2? Why or why not?

You are correct about the base attack bonus (you can't have your cake and eat it, too, I guess).

And yes, it will get multiple attacks per the base attack bonus - that's pretty much a feature of how the base attack bonus works, I see no reason to create a special exception here.

Right. You would, however, add the weapon's enhancement bonus to the wielder's BAB. So if your 12th level fighter (see below) had a +2 dancing longsword, it would attack on its own at +14/+9/+4.

Yes, because that is a 12th level fighter's base attack bonus. If they meant a single attack at his highest base attack bonus, they usually say "a single attack at the highest BAB." Also, the Spiritual Weapon spell operates in a similar manner to the dancing weapon ability (uses the spellcaster's BAB for its attack) and it gets multiple attacks if the spellcaster's BAB permits.
