Dark Awakening (solo adventure)

Just saw that Dark Awakening was up. Interesting idea, and I think it's a good choice to put it in Dragon. They also did us a good one by including a PDF of all that is needed to play - maps, counters, etc.

(without reading it too much) It seems like a good effort toward getting folks into the game. Lots of people have work/school breaks and I think a one-on-one is the best way to get folks into the game. A lot easier to go at their own pace and they don't have to feel so nervous about putting themselves out there.

Anyone have any further comments on the adventure? I haven't decided whether or not a friend will run it for me, so I'm curious what people think about it as far as terms of new-player quality and of veteran-player quality.

Would people like more adventures like this?

Edit: Woah, I just noticed the format allows for several "references" in the encounters to allow you to go to a page in the back for further description. For those who do a more through reading, is this intended for new DMs who may not be as "on-the-fly" about character ideas? Is it something directed more at solo-play or more at new-DMs?

I sent feedback to WotC telling them thanks for the solo adventure. If you have a laptop, you can even play D&D while on a long bus ride.

You may get a few interesting glances, but who cares :)

I hope this is not the last solo adventure we see.

Why do you hate Kzach?
No, don't answer that one. :p

I would have rather have had a 1 on 1 adventure...
It can certainly be played that way, although a DM who wants to have the structure of the entire adventure in mind before he starts playing (as opposed to simply reading the adventure as the player progresses through it and presenting him with the choices given in the text) will have to do more work beforehand.
