[gm]@Searing Nagharha why yes I imagine you would be most of the other house are bigger it's just this one is gnomey. Investigation vs perception I have always viewed it as perception being a looking skills you can see what is there such as something poking out of a book. Investigation I see as more hands on such a rifling through doors or feeling for a draught from a secret door. The dust isn't overly think more like the kind you would find on black glass surface of you haven't dusted it in a day, anyone with a TV stand fitting the description knows my pain. I have rolled Shavra with actual dice!(planning my rl session tonight) coming up 18[/gm] The dwarven guard replies "Dulan of the clan Hammerforged, son of Durance the breaker." The guard beams with great pleasure. The papers on the desk are a odd collection of sorts, some appear to be order notes for things you have no idea what they are a Static flux capacitor, gyroscopic alternator and a ocular swivel duct. Some things you do recognise such as large orders of metal ore and blacksmith bills and order for pure uncut diamonds. One thing that certainly stands out is the amount of 0s at the bottom of these pages. One page seems to be torn from a grimoir you recognise it to be magic but it would take time to decipher the notations, it certainly looks necromantic. Finally there is a coded message you cannot decipher. The rest of the house looks fairly standard there is a distinct lack of food in the cupboards. The outside of the house is similarly bland and nothing to discover. [gm]Deciphering the grimoir page will require a DC 15 arcana check(prof only) and take 2hours[/gm]
