Dark Sun and Shugenja

I curious about how an others think the Shugenja would work as a Dark Sun character class. Either as an additional class or as a replacement for the cleric.

Naturally it's flavor would need to be change to better suit DS, but mechanically it's elemental focus fits DS well.

Thoughts?

p.s. did anyone else watch Buffy this week? If so was there any discussion?

Can't see any trouble using it that way, with a little adjustment to DS. Really, the Shugenja is a divine sorcerer with access to a few spells clerics don't normally get, it can fit in most campaigns with little work.

I'm sure it would fit ok, but is it worth having shugenja's and clerics?
Would the shugenja work well on it's own as a replacement to the cleric?

Since Oriental Adventures come out I have thought that the shugenja would be perfect for Dark Sun in addition to clerics.

I have been using the Shugenja to replace elemental clerics in my DS campaign since OA came out. It has worked out quite well. I did however give them standard cleric saves and the standard cleric attack bonus to buff them out a bit.
