Dark Sun?

I read an interview the other day with the author of the Dragon article and he was apparently really unhappy with the way his work was edited. Apparently Dark Sun fans are really up in arms about some of the changes, and it turns out that he agrees with them. I'm trying to figure out how I could find that link. Let me root around a bit and see if I can remember where I read it.

And of course, I would love to play anything, but probably can't :(

Anybody wanna play Dark Sun? I bought all of the rules tonight. I picked up Dragon 319 and Dungeon 110.
Unless they have changed everything. You start at level three (3) correct? Also, since this is Darksun, if we wanted to, we could play humans, thrikreen, half-giants, and a few other things that I can't remember.

OK. Here it is. A post from Dave Noonan (WotC_Dave) on April 7. The link was messed up when I first read it, so I had to scroll around. Hopefully it will work better for everyone else.

Noonan's comment on the WOTC boards

Basically, he complains that they added back in paladins, bards and sorcerors, among other major editing changes he did not like.

Well, sortuv. Basically, all the races have an ECL of +1 or +2 to account for that.

I'd love to play! I just wanna play everything -- I've been having so much fun with everyone's games!

I think we played a little Dark Sun (2nd ed) in College -- or drew from it -- or maybe when we were spelljamming we ended up with an adventure on a Dark Sun planet . . .
