Darkfire: Does it get # attacks/round?

Darkfire is described in the Spell Compendium as "touch attacks." Does that mean that if my BAB is 6/1 that I get a Darkfire attack at +6 and another at +1, each round? Or is the spell limited to 1 attack per round no matter what your level? Please state if your answer is just a gut feel about balance, or it it's based upon RAW (and if RAW, please let me know what book/page to refer to).

Thanks. So at 8th level, a cleric could cast Darkfire and shoot off 8d6 damage/round for 8 rounds from a single spell. That's 64d6 during the course of a battle. Considering typical touch AC, you'd hit enough of the time to do about 150 points of damage total. Is that decent for an 8th-level cleric? Our barbarian is outputting about 180 points per battle.

I know that there is Divine Metacheese & Permanent Spell feat, but all I've got is core books + Spell Compendium. I have the extended spell feat, so I can get Darkfire to 16 rounds. Is that decent blastiness?

Also, when the cleric strikes with a Darkfire melee touch attack, does the strength bonus apply to damage?

I don't think strength bonuses apply to touch spell damage. If you were to use an unarmed strike, then your strength bonus would apply to the unarmed strike damage and you would also trigger the touch spell when you hit. It's probably not something you want to do unless you're a monk/cleric, though.
