Darwin's World True 20 Designer Q&A

Hi guys, just wanted to let everyone know that this is done and in to Green Ronin for approval. It should be released in late May/early June.

For those unfamiliar with the setting, Darwin's World is a gritty, post-apocalyptic setting, set far in the future of a world nearly destroyed by nuclear and biological warfare.

In this nightmarish, futuristic dark age, societies range from tribals hunting and being hunted like their stone age ancestors, all the way to vault dwellers just emerging from their shelters, with a better understanding of the technology of the Ancients but a steep learning curve on surviving in the harshness of the Twisted Earth.

The True 20 edition includes new character archetypes, rules on mutations and defects, and the technology left from before the fall, the Artifacts of the Ancients.

It thus serves as a complete manual for creating post-apocalyptic characters in the True 20 system.

Questions and comments are welcome.

Will it be released in print? If so, when and in what format?

What's the price likely to be for PDF and/or print?

One book only, or future releases planned?

We might do a POD run through Lulu, whether or not we do will depend on PDF sales and general customer demand I think.

The PDF price will be $10, with the final book clocking in at 106 pages.

Only one book planned for right now. Obviously, there's a ton of material we could convert. Once we see how this does, we'll look at whether the response indicates demand for more material, probably next year.

That's great. I'll definitely be picking it up. When can we expect it?

The book is done, so once it goes through Green Ronin's approval process, soon. Id say a week wouldn't be unreasonable, but you never can tell. Early June if I had to guess.

In addition to this True20 manual, would any other source books be needed to play in Darwin's World? (Does this replace the Survivors Handbook, but we would still need a world book?)

Secondly, would you be folding in any changes to the d20 system introduced by the Star Wars Saga system version?

I'll answer the second point first: the Saga system of Star Wars isn't open content to the best of my knowledge. Even if it was, this is a True 20 book and was designed using two sources: the True 20 core rules and the Darwin's World source book I was converting.

That was a long winded way of saying no, nothing from Saga SW :)

This book replaces the Survivor's handbook, along with the True 20 core rules, it provides all the crunch you need to play a Darwin's World game using the True 20 system.

If you don't already own the DW rules, you can get the Gazetteer for the Twisted Earth (the Darwin's World baseline campaign setting) free online here:
