DaVinci Code Trailer

The sad thing is - once you've read a few of Dan Brown's books, you realize they're all the friggin same! Same concepts, same character stereotypes, same plot devices, same hectic pacing.

YAWN! Write something different for a change, man!

Michael Crition (sp?) is the same way, same formula every book.

The actors are laughing all the way to the bank.
I saw the trailer when I saw King Kong. I never read the book. I have been waiting for the paperback here in the USA, they keep pushing it back, and pushing it back.

Oh, I'm not sorry for the actors - I'm sorry for all of us movie goers, that they didn't act in some movies worth watching instead.

As for the book... It's not worth the price of a paperback, either.

Angles and Demons would have made a much better movie IMHO. Still will see this movie. The darn thing wouldn't work for me this morning but is this trailer basically a picuter of the Mona Lisa with a blurb or is it actually scenes from the movie?

It has seens from the movie in

"Misconceptions" is a very polite name for it... Especially considering that disclaimer at the beginning of the book.

I don't have a copy of the book at hand, but if the disclaimer your talking about is the one where he writes about the building in NYC, as well as others peices mentoined. My take on it, is he is taking these peices of info and creating his own puzzle, and weaving his story around that. Anyone could take those same peices and weave another completly different story.

I was rather interested in the book after reading the first chapter, until I found out it's just a "holy grail" story.

Ok, I'll be the odd one out :)

I actually liked the book, and am eagerly awaiting the movie :)

Hardly the odd one out, except in this thread I think :)

I've never read the book myself. Gnostic theology and conspiracy theory is interesting enough, I just never got the urge.

That list, IIRC, also includes "organisations" - which makes his take on the Catholic Church and Opus Dei (screwballs though they might be) outright lies... And if you'd seen any interviews with him, you'd know he put a lot of effort into convincing people that all his "facts" were indeed the real thing.
