Dawning Star VIP Game for Charity - Attendee Tickets

From 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, on August 17, 2007 at Gen Con in Indianapolis, Blue Devil Games is hosting a unique RPG event: The Dawning Star VIP Game to benefit charity and featuring our guest-of-honor JD Wiker! Follow the link for more info about the game. Long-story short, we're going to have an awesome Dawning Star game and raise a ton of money to help some needy kids.

Now you can get one of only ten tickets to attend the event. Attendee tickets will go on sale for $40 some time today via OneBookShelf (RPG Now/DTRPG). I'll post again when they go up for sale. Please keep in mind that 100% of the proceeds of the sale of this item will go to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. I want to give a special thank-you to OneBookShelf for their generosity in waiving their normal commission for this unique product!

Now, you might be saying to yourself that $40 is a lot of money just to attend an rpg game. You'd be right. But this isn't just any game--this is a once-in-a-lifetime event! Attendees will enjoy free food and drink throughout the event and hobnobbing with the Dawning Star design team, VIP JD Wiker, and other industry luminaries. Attendees will also receive a signed limited edition publication (fluff and rules usable in most any d20 sci-fi campaign, written by yours truly), a limited edition Dawning Star hat, and participation in free raffles for some singular items (rare OOP game books, signed paraphenalia, etc.). Attendees will also get to participate in the game itself by taking control of enemy combatants, including the dreaded vaasi.

A great time and a great cause!

(Purchasers receive a pdf of a ticket to attend. Purchasers should make sure they are able to attend the event. This is NOT an actual game product.)

That's very cool, Justin.

Very, very cool.
Thanks. I'm stoked with the response I've gotten to this. Based on the player tickets already sold, the expected return on the attendee tickets, and the expected on-site donations, I'm now shooting for a $2,000 donation to Shriners, which is beyond my wildest dreams when I first had the idea.

BTW, the ticket product is now active.

And I just want to really, really thank OBS. Not only did they agree to waive their commission for this product, but they took the time and effort to do some special coding to make it work. This the first electronic product with a "limited inventory". Think about that. Check out the counter at the top of the product page.

So, thank you, Steve and Chuck (who did the coding).

Justin, just to let you know this event is gonna get some love in a couple of pre-Gen Con podcasts being recorded in the next couple of days. Once I get confirmation, I'll let you know which show mentioned the charity event.

Thanks, Daniel.

We're down to two tickets left! I want to move those two ASAP, so I'm willing to throw in a free pdf copy of Helios Rising to anyone who buys an attendee ticket. (I'll also send the pdf to those who have already bought tickets just to be fair.)

Remember, people: Good time and a good cause.

Heh - and I just bought my HR .pdf yesterday (for the event) - too funny.

C'mon people - just two more tickets to go for a good cause. If for nothing else, it is a good way to know where and when you are going to eat Friday at the con - never something fun to figure out (nor is having to wait in line for an hour or two just to sit at a table and get some food).
