Since Xath should be supercharged on gaming after returning from GenCon...I thought I would bump this up to check on status...

Any word yet?

Heh, well I'm sure she'll chime in any moment, but I talked to her briefly about the topic at GenCon and she said she has to wait until she is actually enrolled to take any further action.

I'm rather excited of the prospect of seeing even more ENWorlders there this year. Wulf even. May have to try to get in on some GT.

Depending on the weekend, I may be driving out for this. I meet a lot of people that participate in this and I need to game with them :D

Well, in any case, I will also be there, no matter what the date (unless something completely unexpected comes up).

Added: Additionally, I will quite likely have a couple copies of Cyradon available for use as give-aways as well.

As of Friday September 2nd I'm semi-in charge of TerpCon Fall 2005 in conjunction with the officers of the Terrapin Gaming Club. I posted a message earlier today in one of the other sections (http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=146568) opening the floor to GMs interested in running games at TerpCon 2005 with absolutly no knowledge of what was going on here at the ENworld forums. I actually found the current thread by accident when looking for info on D20 Star Wars...

A summary of the current situation:
We have three rooms reserved for October 29th at the University of Maryland, College Park that have already been paid for by the Terrapin Gaming Club. This date is effectively set in stone. I'm sorry the voting thread didn't influence our decision; we (the club leadership) didn't know about it. We are currently looking into hiring security to oversee a vendor's room (University policy reqires a police presence for any event where currency is exchanged). We will not be doing registration via the forums here but instead have a third-party registration system that will go live once we feel GMs have had sufficiant time to register their games.

That's about it so far. I encourage anyone who is interested in running a game to take a look at the thread in the gamers seeking gamers forum and to let me know so we can add their game to the registration system. I would also like to emphasize that the Terrapin Gaming Club officers do not participate in the ENworld forums, so unless it goes through me or the terpcon@gmail.com email address chances are they don't know about it.

If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me or terpcon@gmail.com and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for posting. Last fall, they overcame the need to pay for a policeman by simply not having any cash change hands. Is there a pressing need to have that this time, or have the rules changed?

I wouldn't call it a pressing need, but we've always wanted to have vendors from local game stores and representitives who wanted to bring product. We had been contacted by a few people in the past who asked about setting up a booth or table but we've had to deny them because of university policy.

This isn't to say we will have vendors or security, it's just somehting we're looking into at this point.
