WotC just announced what's up with Character Builder and Compendium updating.
First, Hybrid Character's are being added to the Character Builder. Specifically, the Dragon 374 version. What's interesting is that 1) The 374 version is already outdated, and 2) both Dragon articles specifically stated that hybrids weren't going to be added to the character builder until they were officially released.
This doesn't affect me much, I'm not going to allow hybrid's in my game just yet. (It's one of the few playtest items I've banned outright. No one in my group cares.)
Second, they're changing the back end code of the compendium. They say that they're going to get rid of the automatic wildcards that were being added to search queries. Now that I know the Compendium does that, the search results make a lot more sense to me.
Third, they're switching the day of the update from the third Tuesday of the month to the first. This seems unlikely, however, to result in the compendium and CB getting that month's new releases any sooner.
