DDI Update Delayed Until 3/15

Evidently a big bug was found and squashed. They are currently testing to see if the fix doesn't break other parts of the CB.

when i saw the first date i knew it would be delayed, wotc cant commit to dates, even if they're less than a week in advance.

im still excited for the new content and features, the last time they updated the cb we got scrolling! i hope the character sheets get some of the options we had with the old ones (ie. editing hp/surges)

Sometimes a bug is found just before release that forces a delay for retesting. It sucks, but it happens.

Frankly, better a delay than they release and then find a bug that accidentally deletes everyone's characters (or something equally horrible).

This, even software companies regularly delay releases due to bugs found in final QA tests, which is why these tests are done.

Wait, multiweapon power cards were available with the last version (although they were undocumented) - if you equip two weapons it shows them both on powers right now.





I really just hope they fix Sets. It's really like they just forgot set items exist.

You know, I only ever hear about these updates if I see something here on ENWorld. It would be nice if WotC had some better way of getting this information to subscribers. A little "here's what's coming up for / in the DDI" section would be a nice addition to the D&D main page...

They do. I get an email from my Wizards account every single time there's one of these announcements. Maybe it's your settings?

If you're a member of the forums, and you go to your home page, you'll a section on messages. Specifically, you'll see broadcasts. Those broadcasts are usually the big announcements like DDI updates, VT stuff, and the like. So you can look there. I just found out about this and I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I don't get any emails either.

I had to turn on my receive notifications from WotC setting in my account profile.

Here is the first step to getting email notifications when there is an update:

Opting in or out of communication

and you must be a member of this group:
Whoops! Browser Settings Incompatible

You should now receive notifications from WotC_Trevor

If you meet both of these conditions but are not getting the emails, then i would suggest contacting Customer Service and getting some technical help.

I may end up contacting customer service again, but I'm not currently getting email updates from WotC because I used to get 80+ notifications each day about the same years-old threads (that didn't even have any new posts in them).

But the point is, I don't really want to have to deal with email or twitter or going on the WotC forums. I'd like to be able to hit the WotC website, since that's where I go to see if WotC has done anything new, and actually get that info.
