Right now (as I type!) the crack team of experts (the Vassal Help Squad) is busy at work trying to take the DDM Guild Online League to the next level. We've got some great things in the works, but we need a bit more time to implement them. However, we wanted to keep the ball rolling, so, with that in mind I present a special two round mini season:
DDM Guild Online League Double-Play Tournament.
Refer to the Online League article on the DDM Guild website] for full details and player responsibilities.
Players may use this thread for sign-up and reporting of games in this special double-play tournament. Please provide your geographic location including GMT offset if you can when you sign-up. If you have trouble logging on to or using Hordelings, email me (demetrious@mac.com) or PM me and we'll accommodate you.
Deadline: Players must sign-up by 12 AM on Tuesday, July 13, 2009 (that's one minute after 11:59 PM on Monday). Pairings will be added to this post within 24 hours.
Notes: Games must be completed and reported by Tuesday, July 27. That gives you two weeks to complete the match or matches.
You may sign up for one or both scenarios. Playing one scenario will not necessarily keep you out of the running for 1st place. Placing will be tabulated as follows: [Scenario 1 final point total x2 +40] + [Scenario 2 final point total]. If both scenarios are played the total will be divided by two, then that will be your point total. If only one scenario is played, that will be your point total. In the event of is a tie a playoff will be improvised.
Scenario 1 : 80-point Assault. No duplicates, no commons.
Play will be on small maps. 8 figure maximum. Rarity is limited to Rare, Uncommon, and Visible. Only one copy of any particular miniature may be used. Item stat cards are legal. Victory areas score the standard %5 (4 points in this case)
Scenario 2 : 200-point Assault.
200-point Assault, following all the standard rules. (Practice, practice!)
Prize Schedule:
Yes, there will be actual, physical prizes!
First Place: The winner of the special double-play tournament will receive Two booster packs of official D&D Miniatures.
Second Place: Second place will receive one booster pack of official D&D Miniatures.
Band of the week: After all warbands are logged, voting will commence and the creator of the warband that gets the most votes will receive one booster pack of official D&D Miniatures. There will be no voting criteria and the voting will be completely anonymous.
DDM Guild Online League summer 2010 season will commence after this mini-tournament. Good luck!
