DDXP Ranger Fix?

First Post
I know this was probably resolved months ago, but I got six players for the upcoming Keep on the Shadowfell, so I'm looking to the DDXP pre-gens for my sixth PC. I recall a lot of fuss over the rangers powers that seemed to good to be true. Was there ever a "fix", was that ever explained by WotC? If so, I would really appreciate a link.

Riardon's Careful Attack went from 1d10 + 4 damage to 1d10 damage.

That's the only change I'm aware of.

I don't recall much of a fuss over the Ranger power - what I recall is a huge fuss over the Paladin's marking ability because it encouraged a "Mark-and-run" strategy which caused a good deal of damage to the marked creature at almost no effort to the Paladin. And that ability was fixed in the Keep on the Shadowfell release.

Looking at the original sheet and the revised one side-by-side, it appears as though that was the only change.

The revised sheets are available on WotC's site.

However, if you intend to use Riardon to fill out a roster of 6 for KotS, you're gonna have a slight issue when it's time to level up.

To my knowledge, we have no information on Ranger Utility powers or 3rd level Encounter powers.

Your best bet is to double up classes. Let the 6th player play as Skamos (Wizard), Kathra (Fighter), Corrin (Paladin) or Erais (Cleric). They'll just have to take the same Utility and Encounter powers that the KotS pre-gens take.
