What do other people have?
There are now four fun Flash animations with music-what-I-wrote for various EN Publishing products, the latest for "Deadly Games" which is "coming soon" as they say in the trade.

Please visit my homepage to view them.

I'm interested to know because these vary in size so much which is the most popular size for people? Unfortunately with my present service provider detailed site stats are an expensive add-on, so I can't tell which one is the more popular.

It takes a while, but even on my 56k I prefer to go for the big version. I can read all the text sitting around ENWorld while I wait for it to load. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but those words load faster.

And I thought the DG trailer was pretty cool. (Only one I've had the time to view, of course - none of my art seems to have made it into the trailer, but I'm OK with that.)

Music was cool too.

I also have a 56k connection. I don't mind 2 MB files, but anything bigger than that is starting to get too big.

The trailer was cool.

I'm on 56k, and wouldn't even dream of looking at anything over 500k or so just to see a flash animation.

The Deadly Games one is absolutely lovely, by the way. You should feel proud! :)

When you said you kept watching it, I assumed you meant the "nice" version. Download it for my just once, won't you please? Pretty, please? The music's in stereo, has better bass, and a whole lot of drums that are nearly erased in the Low Rez version.

Incidentally, for those that don't know, 95% of the difference between file sizes is accounted for by the compression of the music alone. The actual animation is virtually identical between all the versions. The high one is stereo, MP3 sort of level -- the low one more akin to the RealPlayer samples on Amazon (well, maybe a little better...)

Anyways, I'm glad people are enjoying the music. I hope you all enjoy the project when it's released as well. Just putting the finishing touches to it now, and soon I'll be sticking it in a boat, and pushing it off into the sunset with a fond farewell...

I'm surprised so many people are on broadband...

<shameless bump>
Wow! Don't things get pushed down on the front page fast in here! The sections I'm used to are much slower!...</shameless bump>
