Dear WotC: Please stop with the level 1-3 previews

I started my campaign at level 10. The two people who've been there the most are almost level 13. I'm sure there are lots of groups out there which also started at higher levels, and then there are plenty of groups who started at level 1 but are now at least level 4 or higher.

All this is to say, all of these previews/playtests which are limited to levels 1-3 are completely and utterly useless to me. The barbarian was a great preview, because it had the class up through level 30, so anyone can use it.

How am I supposed to playtest something if I can't use it?

I understand the character builder. That makes sense, there's no real way to make that work for all levels and still be limited. But for classes and such, just give us one or two powers from each level, rather than giving us everything for the lowest levels.

Eh, the barbarian was a playtest - so its purpose was to let you use it and tinker.
The druid and invoker were previewes - so its purpose was just to make you want more of it.
From that perspective, it's okay.

But, yes, you're right, the previews do severly limit the number of people that can try it out before the full class hits the shelves.

Well, the Invoker article isn't a "playtest" article like the Barbarian one was.

I would like to see more as well, however. I always want more. ('~' ) ( '~')

*sniff sniff* Is that... ninja? I think it's ninja...

...and there are still a few groups that have yet to hit 4th level. (sigh) ;)

You joke, but I'm seriously contemplating "accidentally" causing a TPK and restarting at level 1 so I can have everyone use the character builder... ;)

I didn't realize the distinction that some were previews and some playtests. Thanks for pointing that out.

I still don't like it, though. :p
