I can offer an opinion of the sort of player that is least likely to adopt 4E: someone that has spent years playing/house ruling a game that he already loves. There are many of us who have been gaming for decades now. OD&D, BECMI, AD&D, Warhammer, 3.5, whatever. In our saner moments, I'd argue that most of us we don't think our personal preferences are best, but rather that they are the best systems for our personal tastes, for our own campaigns. Hence, why we defend them so vigorously.Having run the game at conventions and in play tests, I've really grown to love 4E. But I also don't have a regular home group, so I don't have many reasons to hold on to 3.5. If I did still have my home crew, I'd probably still be playing homebrew L5R or Cyberpunk 2020. And not because Cyberpunk v3 is for suxxors (an entirely different argument there) but because it is the game I know and love.4E makes my style of DMing very easy and very fun.
