Still, I'd think an elemental artificer would have been in the book, given that Eberron exists.

That would be publishing something that isn't a Wizard and we don't do that in post-essentials 4E

Personally, I don't care for arcane, since warlocks prove it to be a method and not a source, while elemental is a distinct source.

But it looks like "elemental" will be a sub-source, like "shadow" (mostly used as rider on arcane/divine/primal powers).

Yet another wizard sub-class that would have worked better as a warlock.

Oh, yes, I get "spells" from "entities" who "share" their power with me.

But it's totally genies and supernatural ferrets, so that's why I am a wizard, and you are a Warlock.

Still, elementalist sorcerer and elemental monk (?!) might be pretty interesting. I'm normally not one to gripe about yet-another wizard subclass, and perhaps the mechanics will be interesting, but FRIG, man, what does it take to become a frickin' WARLOCK 'round these parts?

Maybe if my supernatural ferret is eeeeeeeevil....

I must spread some XP around. I think the warlock class is cursed*. It sucked in 3E, and it sucked in pre-Essentials 4E. Once Essentials came out, it got one sorta-decent build and was then cast into oblivion.
