IIRC, a rules update was supposed to come out in December. Does anyone have any information about it?

On the 4e general discussion board over on wizards.com, an employee posted that they've been delayed by the illnesses of several people working on the update. It had been rescheduled for last Friday but then postponed again.

It will probably appear this week sometime.

Yeah, friend of mine was working on it on like Christmas Eve, so I'm sure it's been worked on. It's coming, slowly but surely

Heck, the delays may also mean we got a more thorough treatment than usual

Hopefully the new edition doesn't mean they will be abandoning this errata push.
