[Defenders of the Faith] Prestiage Domains

How does one gain access to these domains? Is there a way outside of PRCs? What PRCs allow you to choose which domain you can gain? I noticed quite a few are limited to one from the rather decent sized list

The only way is to take a prestige class that grants the ability. Now, in places like D&Dg and Kalamar, many of these prestige domains have become reguliar domains.

IIRC, only the Contemplative PrC allows you to choose a prestige domain. for the other PrCs, a specific prestige domain is assigned

Don't expect anything either. Wizards has a policy of only supporting the core books.

Yeah, I had an idea about a Cleric with the Summon Prestige Domain, but I don't know if I want to wait until 11th level for it. But if I ever get the chance, it might make an interesting charecter. My idea was a Cleric who whould summon Celistial (or Fiendish if you swing that way) beings (like a Celistial Hawk) to fight evil. Maybe someday

To be honest, I would ask the DM if you could add the domain as a standard domain. I have.

Thinking about it. Then agian, right now I have no idea what class I will be playing. So... right now just comming up with some ideas, this is one of them.

Or else create a feat that allows you to take it since they are a little more powerful then the stadard domain.

Of course bribing the DM also helps, it's amazing what Ooziness you can get away with doing that.
