Deft Opportunist, Double Hit and AoO

Hello, I was reading Miniatures Handbook, and I've got a question regarding the feats Deft Opportunist and Double Hit.

Deft Opportunist gets you a +4 to attack when making AoO.

Double Hit allows you to make an attack with off-hand against the same target at the same time when making AoO.

Now, if I use Double Hit, would the Deft Opportunist feat give me a +4 bonus on both hits? Also, Does the extra attack with Double hit counts as a use of my possible AoO in that round? The feat does not mention anything about uses of AoO, so I presumed that it is just an extra attack. Am I right?

The feat does not actually say that the off hand attack is an AoO. So I'd say the bonus only applies to the primary hand attack.

No, for the same reason as before.

As best as I can tell.

Another set of questions on the same line of thought: If the opponent has Karmic Strike, and I hit with my AoO, when does my off hand attack get resolved? What if I have Karmic Strike, too? What if my opponent also has Double Hit?

What if they both have this feat...

IMPROVED COMBAT REFLEXES [EPIC]
Prerequisites: Dex 21, Combat Reflexes.
Benefit: There is no limit to the number of attacks of opportunity the character can make in one round. (the character still can’t make more than one attack of opportunity for a given opportunity.)

:)

Karmic Strike states that the AoO occurs at the same time as the original attack (unlike most AoOs, which are resolved before the triggering action).

So with two opponents having Double Hit, Karmic Strike, and Improved Combat Reflexes, each AoO that actually hits will provoke two simultaneous AoOs from the opponent. Continue until either a/ someone misses with all their 'outstanding' AoOs, breaking the chain or Karmic Strikes, or b/ someone falls unconscious or dies.

Assuming you don't have a problem with the concept of someone striking simultaneously more than once with the same weapon.

A DM would be well within his rights in a Karmic Strike vs Karmic Strike situation, since the hits occur at the same time, to limit you to one swing with each weapon.

(This is not the case in a normal Improved Combat Reflexes chain - say a back-and-forth disarm battle - since each AoO precedes the provoking attack...)

Except that the 3.5 (Complete Warrior) version of Karmic Strike doesn't say anything about both attacks being simultaneous, contrary to the 3.0 (Oriental Adventure) one. If you choose to take -4 to your AC, you gain the ability to make an AoO against "any creature that makes a succesful melee attack or melee touch attack agianst you". You have to threaten said opponent, and the feat does not give you more AoO.

Now I wonder what exactly is "a succesful melee attack". Is that one that hits ? One that deals damage ? If we suppose the AoO the latter, does the one with karmic strike
take actual damage if she drops, stuns or otherwise incapacitates her opponent ?

I have Complete Warrior open in front of me, and it specifically states "the same instant your opponent strikes you".
