Deities & Demigods: Bahamut

Hi,

I was also hoping for a Core Beliefs style post on Bahamut as a god who, let's face it, we don't know that much about. The extremist organization is fine but wasn't what I was looking for.

Cheers

Not really a surprise considering WotC stance of "You only need what you kill".

I just hope that this is not a preview of how the Draconomicon 2 will look like. I thought about buying if for collections sake, but if WotC will just continue to invent reasons to kill metallic dragons instead of trying to correct their MM2 alignment rectify I will skip it.

Add my voice to the chorus. While I enjoyed reading about the Platinum Talons, I expected and still want an article that's actually about Bahamut ya know.

Weird. I expected this to be a little different, too.

Well, I've attached Bahamut in the old Deity-A-Week style. It's 99% fluff, but I think it's pretty OK fluff, in that it can inspire some good mechanics. ;)

I'm a fan of Schwalb's stuff in general, and this is keen, but it's not what I wanted.

I can see where all of you guys are coming from.

I suppose that doesn't worry me because I DM in the Realms so, frex, that Bane article wasn't that useful to me. I still enjoyed it, and it has given me a few ideas for my FR version of Bane but I could easily delete it from my PC and not miss it.

This article, however, came at just the right time for me. I was plotting out a campaign involving the sun god of FR, Amaunator, who, pre-4E at least, was definitely more lawful than good. So without boring the few who might read this post for specifics, I was looking at an organisation of, basically, LE-aligned heretics within an ostensibly LG religion so this article was helpful for me.

nthing this. The Bane article was all kinds of awesome, and actually about Bane. This was really kind of lame, I can make up my own extremist organizations.

Go back to the Bane-style god articles, WotC.

I think part of the weirdness is that it wasn't about Bahamut really at all, but the name on the label implies that it'll be about that god. It was really more of a villainous organization in the style of a goblin tribe, or a gnoll pack, or somesuch. I expected stuff about the god more than stuff about one nonstandard church.
