Which would everyone prefer ?

Assuming they need it and well almost everything in gamming history has so its a fairly good assumption.

Would you rather

Rushed: just get it out the door ASAP so I can see the basics and get going let a chunk of errata pick up the contradictions and typos

On Time: We expect you keep to the current schedual and would be staisfied with a small amount of errata as nothing is perfect

Polished: Take as long as you need, NO REALLY ! my best wet dream involves 3 core books and no errata ever published

No matter how long they delay, there will be errata.

Besides, we're all ready waiting six months. Give it to me now.

On-time. Any product can always be made "a little bit better" but there's a point of diminishing returns. I doubt WotC feels they're particularly rushed, despite what others might think.

I have to agree with Snow. There's always room for improvement, and at the same time, a lot of what will need errata will also be easily interpreted and/or modified with a little common sense. I'm also pretty sure they're on the ball as far as the production schedule is going, no matter what the worriers or nay-sayers may say.

True although there are differnt types of Errata there the harmless Opps Fighter AC bonus is 5 not 50

and the not so harmless

Umm you know those 2 pages on Attack of Opporunity mechanics, just rip them out and use new one instead

The first I dont mind the second I wont accept ;)

My biggest concern for 4e has always been the short amount time for external playtesting they're conducting. I don't expect a "small" amount of errata when it comes out (on time). I will be very, very (pleasantly) surprised if there isn't page after page after page... of errata and high level loopholes 3 months after it's release.

Hand them to some fresh editors before signing off on them. I felt like I was finding dozen of errors on the first read through of 3E.

3.5 drove me nuts because things as simple page numbers in the index weren't checked.
