Mythic Carpathia & City of My Nightmares for the Vaesen RPG.png

Mythic Carpathia & City of My Nightmares for the Vaesen RPG from Free League Publishing
  • END DATE: Thu, November 21 2024 3:00 PM EST.
  • SYSTEM(S): Vaesen RPG
  • PROJECT TYPE: Starter set and sourcebooks
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: SEK 898 + S/H for the PDF and print versions of the starter set and both sourcebooks
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? The Vaesen RPG provides an exciting world for your gaming table: Nordic horror using a system that adds to the tension of monsters and mystery. Set in 19th century Scandinavia, the game pits you against a mix of new and known monsters as you work to save towns and cities from the unknown. This Kickstarter provides a new entry point for players including a revised core rulebook and two new adventures. City of My Nightmares is a campaign in which you investigate gruesome murders around the capital of Sweden. Mythic Carpathia is an adventure that takes you through the Balkans to deal with vampires and other creatures of the night. Another highlight of the campaign is the starter boxed set with rules, an adventure, characters, a map, dice, and more. For those what want to get the core rulebook, there’s a polished core rulebook with errata added and some minor edits; not a full revision, this is a tightening up of the work. Best of all, if you own the original rules at DriveThruRPG, the PDF will be updated to the polished version. If you play online, these books are offered for Alchemy, Foundry Virtual Tabletop, and Roll20 as well as print via this campaign page.

The Darkest Woods.png

The Darkest Woods from Monte Cook Games
  • END DATE: Nov 22, 2024 at 8:00pm EST.
  • CROWDFUNDING ON: Backerkit
  • SYSTEM(S): System neutral
  • PROJECT TYPE: Adventure
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $189 + S/H for the PDF and print versions of the book plus handouts, tokens, dice, artbook, and more
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? Monte Cook Games is offering a mega-adventure with twists, turns, and QR codes to let you and your players dive into a more immersive setting. Intended to be laid over the game you’re running right now, regardless of the system, this adventure promises a GM-friendly experience with at-your-fingertips information. This horror quest involves terrors emerging from the woods, ready to give your players new and unexpected challenges. Download a sneak peek of this adventure on the Backerkit page.
The Smurfs- Roleplaying Game.png

The Smurfs: Roleplaying Game from Maestro Media
  • END DATE: Sat, November 23 2024 2:59 AM EST.
  • SYSTEM(S): An original system
  • PROJECT TYPE: Core rulebook
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $59 + S/H for the PDF and print versions of the rules as well as additional books, map, standees, dice, and more
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? It’s The Smurfs: Roleplaying Game. I need to cover this game, but I don’t need to push this on you. You’re aware, right now, if you and your gaming table want to Smurf or not. I mean, either the idea of a Smurf-Crit interests you or you have a heart of Smurf. If you want to Smurf, you can check out the quickstart guide via the campaign page to get a Smurf of the rules.

Thunder Road- Vendetta RPG.png

Thunder Road: Vendetta RPG from 9th Level Games
  • END DATE: Thu, November 21 2024 5:30 PM EST.
  • SYSTEM(S): Powered by polymorph
  • PROJECT TYPE: Core rulebook
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $40 + S/H for the PDF and print versions of the game
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? Based on Restoration Games’ board game, this TTRPG puts you in the driver’s seat of a car in a game where you battle road warriors. Set in the wastelands, Thunder Road uses the polymorph system, and pushes the boundaries of that system. In a polymorph game, you pick a single die, a d4, d6, d8, or d10. That die is all you’ll ever roll, making all of your checks using it. In addition, your die determines the engine in your vehicle, a v4, v6, v8, or v10. You’ll get a core rulebook with 256 pages of content plus a 16-page zine, but the coolest element and one of the reasons to check out, and back, this campaign is the dice car. The front axle is a d12, so when you roll the car, you get a result. It’s a cool thematic extra for this game. If you want to race in an RPG, this is worth checking out.

FiveEvil- Fiendish 5e Horror.png

FiveEvil: Fiendish 5e Horror from Handiwork Games
  • END DATE: Thu, November 21 2024 1:00 PM EST.
  • SYSTEM(S): FiveEvil is “less a version of 5e, FiveEvil is a ruleset about 5e, making use of its subversion to defy expectations and intensify the horror.”
  • PROJECT TYPE: Core rulebook
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: £16 for the PDF of the book
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? From the creators behind BEOWULF Age of Heroes and a|state second edition, this game takes the 5e ruleset and reimagines it from an indy horror point of view. Not just some new monsters, this version of 5e is much more horror-centric, designed to give the game a terrifying new twist on the familiar rules. Instead of static DCs, the scene determines the DC of challenges and monsters. Inspiration requires taking on a debt. There are many more ideas listed on the campaign page. There’s a free PDF preview on the campaign page if you want to see some of the options for this standalone game.

Fantasy RPG Zine Double Feature - Delver 16 and Runes 5.png

Fantasy RPG Zine Double Feature - Delver 16 and Runes 5 from The Tabletop Engineer
  • END DATE: Sun, November 24 2024 10:38 AM EST.
  • SYSTEM(S): Old-School Essentials and Shadowdark RPG
  • PROJECT TYPE: RPG zines
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $22 + S/H gets you the PDF and print versions of both zines
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? At Mythic Con 2024, I ran into The Tabletop Engineer, the creator of the Delver and Runes zines. We talked about game design, an area that he’s an expert at. These zines are a great sampler of his design sense. Each series offers original, unique content for Old-School Essentials and Shadowdark RPG. What’s interesting is that these zines are not rehashes of the same info, each zine is wholly unique for its system. You get different content and options depending on your preferences. If you love OSE or Shadowdark, these zines offer adventures, GM advice, and more. Check out the campaign page for samples.

Final Girl Rising.png

Final Girl Rising from Drowning Moon Studios
  • END DATE: Thu, November 21 2024 8:34 AM EST.
  • SYSTEM(S): Powered by the Apocalypse
  • PROJECT TYPE: Core rulebook
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $65 + S/H for the PDF and print versions of both books
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? Are you a fan of horror movie tropes? If so, this game offers stories of final girls, the last girl standing in a slasher movie. Complete with standard slasher settings, you’ll play as various final girl archetypes that must compete with the insanity of murderers bent on their deaths. The game puts focus on the final girls, distilling the essence of the genre into a Powered by the Apocalypse game. If your gaming table wants to play as final girls, check out the campaign page for a free preview.

Era- The Consortium 10th Anniversary- Play any Sci-Fi Genre.png

  • SYSTEM(S): Era d10 system
  • PROJECT TYPE: Core rulebook and sourcebooks
