Demi monsters straddle the gap between minions and normal monsters. They require less bookkeeping than normal monsters, but unlike minions, they have more than one hit point and are not immune to damage on a miss. A demi monster may be modified from a minion or from a regular monster. One demi monster is equal to two minions or half a regular monster.
To make a demi monster from a minion:
1. Change hit points to (1 + level) x 4 + half Constitution score.
2. Remove the note that a missed attack never damages the monster.
3. Double the XP award for the monster.
Examples (adapted from the Orc preview):
To make a demi monster from a standard monster:
1. Halve the monster's hit points
2. Set damage equal to half normal maximum damage. The demi monster does not deal additional damage on a critical hit
3. Remove all encounter and recharge powers
4. Remove skills
5. Halve the XP award
