does anyone have any sources of info on either of these beings?

I don't remember Maelfesh, but isn't Xaxivort (sp?) the god of the xvarts? If so, the original write-up is Dragon #64, IIRC. I think he got a treatment in a later Greyhawk product as well (perhaps LGG?).

Check Monster Mythology for details on Xaxivort- it had tons of humanoid gods in there. If he was the god of the xvarts, that's prolly your best bet. :)

Good luck, Boz! :D

confusion

Raxivort is the lord of xvarts. Xaxivort or some such was a demon, who focused on possession, that was in a supplement card in one of the boxed sets, maybe from the ashes. There is also a Living Greyhawk adventure concerning his reappearance.

Maelfesh sounds familiar but I cant place it

quite correct - raxivort has a similar name, but is a different entity, and is not in Monster Mythology at all. :)

i think Xazivort was also in From the Ashes. Maelfesh might have only appeared in novels.

What someone else said upthread. I think it's a throw-away reference to a minor demon, and given that the name is an obvious Raxivort steal, it's probably better off forgotten too.

it's the name of Raxivort's less handsome and less successful twin, his portfolio is "just not as good as anyone else" ... his portfolio should include Luck (bad luck, spells backfire on the caster when concentration checks fail) and Whiney (like a kender's taunt, only ten times worse) :D
