One of us is a zoologist, specialising in reptiles, so we had a little credibility. Fortunately, we also had guns. To summarise, the expedition was led by a specialist in snakes, and when they reached the coast of Texas, they simplified their collecting task by simply offering money for new types of snake. When the Texans said "that's dangerous" they just offered more money. When we got the full story, we were in the zoo, the Large Animal Escaped alarm was going off, and the expedition leader was unconscious at our feet, having been bitten by one of the three escaped 20' snakes and had several ribs busted by another one constricting him. The idea of shooting him did cross my mind...Then it was just a question if rounding up the snakes, with the aid of zookeepers played by the Keystone Kops. The teenage girl in camouflage body-paint turned out to be a were-snake, as she demonstrated when tackled, with hypnosis powers and a venomous bite. That expedition leader is going to get a serious reprimand from the government when he's recovered.</blockquote>
