Once there, they'll reunite with magician/fixer Gia CM.</p><p></p><p>Devi's mystic senses draw her attention to a very bright light approaching from below. It's some kind of magical aircraft, a sphere of light with a sort of hoop on either side. Jonesy takes the yoke, and Kabir calls upon his knowledge of folklore. The pursuing craft possesses impossible maneuverability and silent predation.</p><p>Jonesy goes to top speed, localizing his new and improved controls.</p><p></p><p></p><p><strong>The ANZAC vet ignores him, diving and pulling into a storm to violate every warranty the plane has.</strong> [With Devi's help and the use of the asset he created, he gets to an <strong>11</strong>, considered three higher than the peak of human potential.]</p><p></p><p>The creature reaches out as they pass over the ley lines at Göbekli Tepe.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Jonesy pulls the plane into a cloud and sneaks away as Kabir does deep breathing exercises.</p><p>***</p><p>Gia's been doing some research on the island. When the other four land, she fills them in. Kronos is allegedly a training facility for British soldiers, but it's staffed by Germans, not locals<strong>. Nuns come and go – Catholic nuns, which is weird since the island is Eastern Orthodox.</strong> Kabir goes shopping (getting a pair of nun disguises for Devi and Gia). JP and Jonesy fly over the site: There are roadblocks.</p><p>Devi, an independent-minded 13-year-old, rents a car and examines the site with binoculars. She senses odd mystical disruptions/patchiness around Kronos: <strong>distortions in time and destiny</strong>. Weird!</p><p></p><p>The group jumps into action, borrowing a truck from the airfield and bluffing/bullying/whammy-ing their way past the checkpoints. They get ready to infiltrate the compound...only to find everyone is leaving! The place is crawling with soldiers and children aged 6 to 16. The children are being evacuated to other countries; the group splits up to investigate faster.</p><p></p><p>Jonesy and JP pretend to be doctors, but Raymond's lies are extremely complicated and only cause more problems. JP goes through some files… <strong>finding information on a girl who was allegedly born in Oakland, California in 2006?!</strong></p><p></p><p>Upstairs, Kabir and the fake nuns end up in a children’s ward. The youth are reading bachelor-level military strategy books, prepping calmly for evacuation. Gia susses out why; there's a malfunctioning power core in the basement. As she hears this, she encounters triple deja vu. Devi gives a message to Tango the parrot to find JP and go to the basement. The hero trio are about to do the same, <strong>when a pair of robot nuns arrive and attack!</strong></p><p></p><p>Gia has her cornette ripped off. Kabir defends against the sisters, knocking one onto a pile of suitcases. Devi, knowing discretion is the better part of valor, open the window and jumps for the bushes below! Kabir and Gia swiftly join her.</p><p>The group reunites in the basement, where they're nearly blown over by a time wave! Jonesy, suspecting a hidden lab, follows the biggest lines of wiring... To a massive door. Kabir touches the door briefly, <strong>then kicks it off its hinges as it crumbles into dust!</strong></p><p></p><p>Inside is a multicolor energy sphere, surrounded by scientists. Some are ancient, some are babies, but one is able to give a coherent explanation: The containment field is failing, and everything within five miles is going to be chronologically devastated. They all need to flee: there's nothing they can do!</p><p></p><p>Devi asks why they don't just accelerate time to the point where they’ve already fixed it. Raymond rubs his chin.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Instead of trying to contain the breach, <strong>Jonesy and the remaining scientists amplify it</strong>! Dust falls from the ceiling, but the anomaly accelerates itself...to the point where it's over! Everything returns to normal, ish.</p><p></p><p>Kabir interrogates one of the scientists, asking why the place was built. Turns out the Institute was founded to fight future wars, to preserve the future of the Institute. Hearing that children are being turned into weapons, Devi uses her mystic powers to turn the man into a crying sop. Luckily, the villains took meticulous records...and with the group's contacts, they'll be able to stop the escaping planes before they left the Mediterranean.</p><p></p><p><strong>The day is saved, but what of tomorrow?</strong></p></blockquote><p></p>
