Tips and tactics:
Pre-buffs with fly, bear's endurance, cat's grace, mage armor and shield. In the arena he casts blink if opponent looks like spellcaster or dex fighter, or enlarge person against a warrior-type in heavy armor (for trip). Dispel magic to take away buffs, glitterdust for invisible or just low will opponents. Polymorh is the "oh no - you've made him mad" trump card. The annis has the best combat stats, the troll has good Con if there's a risk of Fort saves and the treant is a good all round combat form, a great grappler, and makes the caster a plant with plant immunities.
Casting with a two-handed weapon can be a little awkward. (Assuming letting go with one hand is free action, while getting the weapon ready again is a move action.)
Use Improved Trip and Improved Disarm where it seems appropriate.
Tanglefoot bags can be quite effective against opponents with low touch AC.
True strike is useful for stealing weapons with disarm, or just max Power Attack. One action to cast is a significant price though.
