Designing a good PF class is hard

AFAIK, there is not a single level where a full caster does not get either a new spell level or a new spell slot.

To be sure, gaining a new spell level is enough for it not to be considered a dead level. However, I don't think the same can be said for gaining a new spell slot for a spell level(s) that you already have. Otherwise, full casters wouldn't need to have class features at all, something that Pathfinder goes out of its way to add more of for full casters.

Well the HD BAB thing is not written in stone, so I would ignore that first. The ToS has, as have the Barbarian (who I know is a special case)

And you'd probably get a whole bunch of people complaining about it. Lots of folks on the Paizo boards cited the lack of HD-BaB linking in ToS as being a problem and the thing they disliked about the book. For better or worse, there's a definite chunk of people that consider that to be a design thing and not following it is a flaw as far as they're concerned.

Oh yeah people complain about it, but I guess PawsPlay is not publishing but it is for his own home game? If this is the case, then it matters diddly what peeps on the forum think. IIRC one of the Paizo guys came on and said it is a guideline not a rule, however they will pretty much stick to it in their designs, apart from exceptional cases like the Barbarian.
