Designing a poll

I just tried putting together a poll for the first time since the system changeover a year or so back - it didn't warn me I only had 10 minutes to design the poll (it's a big one, took about an hour) after doing the initial post. So, I did it again, rushed it, and screwed it up - made it single-vote instead of the intended multi-vote.

Can that time limit be removed? Or better yet, can the old system - where the initial post and poll were tied together and could both be worked on at once - be brought back?

Thanks!

I think the current interface as been around a few years now, I have doubts they can go back. Though I definitely hate the concept of "create thread first, then poll". Especially because it means the thread is open without a poll for some time. That's not exactly a clever design.

Once you know about the limitations, it doesn't hurt to prepare the poll in notepad or similar word processing software. That way, you only have to copy & paste everything. Of course, you need to verify that your options are not too long.

It isn't clever, but if I recall correctly it isn't under our control either. I believe the workflow for creating a poll is in the base forum software, not a modification we've done.

What I have done (to avoid problems with this) is type out the content of the thread, title, poll questions etc in notepad first - then create the thread and poll, copy/paste style ;)

That may have occurred to you now, after the fact, I'm just sayin' :p
