D.M.T.
First Post
For those who do not know, "Destination Truth" is a television program on the SciFi channel (SyFy now??).
The show has a team go to all kinds of exotic locations looking for "monsters" like Bigfoot, Giant Squid, Ghosts, etc. needless to say, they rarely find much of anything other than some frightening experiences with real-world natural animals like poisonous snakes and alligators.
Tonights show, one of the missions involved looking for a wolf-like animal that has been supposedly mauling people in Egypt. In the beginning of the segment, as they are explaining what they are about to do and what they are looking for, they describe the beast and show an all-too-familiar image depicting what they are looking for.
I immediately recognized the picture as being from the D&D Monster Manual. After browsing my 4th ed MM and MM2, I went to my 3.5 MM and there it was, on page 28. Blink Dog. Same Pic. Too funny.
On a side note, tonight's episode of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV, one of the fighters talks about how he used to be very passionate about Dungeons & Dragons and comic books, then he was in the NFL, and now he's trying to make it as an MMA fighter. Marcus was his name, can't remember his last name at the moment.
Two D&D references on TV in one night. Weird.
