Destiny's Tears--Nemesis's Rage

"Interesting so many patrons. It must be hard for you humanoids to decide. Patron of the hunt, that is more appropriate." as he wanders his way towards the prey while looking at the architecture and detailing. "and what is this that they are doing?"

"It is not a difficulty. Most simply pray to each god in turn for each aspect of their life, and we priests feel a natural calling to serve our chosen deity."

"That over there? It is Marticrux, a popular game for those who are tactically-minded."

"Doesn't that become tiring? Who to pray to today who tomorrow? IT seems like a lot of work. Doesn't that seem rather deceptive and patronizing to your many patrons as your 'loyalties' are divided to many and not to a specific belief - almost hypocritical in a sense? No offense meant. Just asking.

A game of predator and prey, or of your more artificial humanoid sense of honor and divisiveness? Not bound by the laws of nature but of your laws of war and combat?
"

[OOC: How old does the girl look?]

"No, it is not a lot of work, nor is it hypocritical. A Praetor honours Myneria as Empress of the Gods and then each deity for the role he or she plays. It is foolish to cross Kthonia, for instance, as she is the Queen of the Underworld. A lack of respect can bring about the gods' anger."

"Marticrux is a game of strategy and tactics, moving your pieces and capturing enemy pieces in an attempt to take the other team's commanders."

(OOC: It is so hard to tell with these humanoids most of the time, but the humanoid females do have a pair of distinctive features that mark them as sexually mature, and she does have those. Mhrazhar has no idea what age that implies for a Praetor, though)

[OOC: :) LOL! I do understand]

"What of this female and this male here? (pointing to them playing the game) What is their role here? Are females venerated more than the physically stronger males, as it appears that your patrons are mostly female?"

*There is a flash of something on the man's face, though what is unclear.*

"Deities are both male and female, but many of the strongest amongst the Old Gods were male, and vice versa with the New Gods. When Myneria overthrew Jovys, her father, she also moved to overthrow the monopoly of power in the hands of the males, and in this way, the Archons were born. Some say it was the reverse, and the Archons' birth heralded Myneria's victory. Either way, the Archons are a superior breed, and they are all female. Their rulership under the Empress rankles the Old Guard of male Praetors who remember when the Senate held all the power and they could oppress women with impunity. It was not all that long ago."

Mhrazhar looks quizzically at him. "What was that? With your face? Are you OK? Do all of your acolytes and priests stay here or do some go about town proselytizing or getting supplies?" The Mojiin begins to change direction and work his way to the entrance.

"What? Nothing. The temple provides what we need most of the time, but that doesn't mean we are not allowed to leave and enjoy ourselves outside if we wish. Thus, visits vary greatly from person to person."

Mhrazhar raises his eyebrow - not believing him. "Thank you for your time. Your words have been most enlightening. Now I have else where to be." and I depart in the opposite direction of the Mojiin Grove and then circle back towards it hopping from shadow to shadow.

[OOC: See you tomorrow]

*When Mhrazhar gets passably close to the Mojiin grove, the Tear warms as if pointing out ot many of the curse-marked targets at once all converging together, but then it stops glowing entirely as if the magic was gone, almost as if the curse-marked were all being used together to put up a damper and protect something or someone in the grove from being detected, or perhaps feeding power into the grove for something else with that as a side-effect.*
