Detect Evil & Non-Detection

Hey there, everyone.

I have a pretty simple question in regards to the 3rd level wizard's spell Nondetection; does this foil detection through castings of Detect Evil, Detect Chaos, etc?

The description reads
The warded creature becomes difficult to detect by divination spells such as clairaudience/clairvoyance, locate object, and detection spells. Nondetection also prevents location by such magic items as crystal balls.

Now, most of this description seems to imply that the spell merely hides the recipient's location, but it does mention "... and detection spells." Is it ruled that 'detection spells' would include Detect Good / Detect Evil / Detect Chaos / Detect Law?

Thanks in advance guys.

The key phrase is this one, " If a divination is attempted against the warded creature..." In other words if any divination spell is cast against the non-detection spell you do what it says. Detect Evil is a divination spell, it and any other divination spell are blocked as described.

Yes. Note that these detection spells can penetrate solid barriers (up to a given limit), so you could use them to find evil monsters lurking behind a door, for instance. Non-detection foils this use of the spell.
