The 5E equivalent of q.v. is Capitalizing. e.g.,
"Gain the following traits from the Core Fighter Traits table: Hit Point Die, proficiency with Martial weapons, and training with Light and Medium armor and Shields."
"You learn two Cleric cantrips of your choice (see the Cleric class's section for a list of Cleric spells). Guidance and Sacred Flame are recommended. The chosen cantrips count as Paladin spells for you, and Charisma is your spellcasting ability for them. Whenever you gain a Paladin level, you can replace one of these cantrips with another Cleric cantrip."
c.f. e.g.g.
I think it's a good analogy ... but (and I'm throwing this out there) ...
Isn't capitalization in 5e24 more of a "Keywords" system (in other words, when a word is Capitalized, it is a Keyword, and that means that it has a specific rules-meaning and is not to be interpreted in a natural language manner).
Whereas "q.v." is a little more expansive- it's just a cross-reference to another section of text, sometimes specifically (usually when it's in ALL CAPS AND BOLD to refer you to a specific section, or sometimes just generally).
I'm not actually positive about this, because I think 5e24 also uses keywords that aren't capitalized. So maybe?
You know, if someone else wants to do a deep dive on the keyword system in 5e24, that would be nifty.
