Determining Magic Points

I read that MP are based on the MAG rating x3 or x6 if you choose the more powerful option...

But I seem to have a vague memory of that being changed somewhere. I can't find evidence of that change though. Am I imagining it? Can someone point me to the change if it exists...

Hasn't changed anywhere. 3 x your MG score (plus a couple of exploits which can increase it).
