Dark Dragon

"I chanced to hear that this formidable elucidated place may comprise knowledge that may help me to evolve my talents and understand barely touched inherent powers that burn inside my very young, despite powerful stellar body. As you surely noticed, I am a dragon, a race older and wiser than anything else on this world penetrated with magic energy. If you have some time, I will tell you stories of magic, epic dramas, destructive battles, cruel deeds, mighty dragons, living dreams, the beauty of nature, evil halflings, artifacts, and so on. But as human lifes are so short, I would understand that you are pleased to listen to only one short story today. So be invited to listen, and then you may or may not understand why I visit this place of words.
My name is Nepomuk, ennobled as Draco Aurichalcum, traveller on the world of Toril and occasional dream wanderer. I am only seven years old but I have seen more of the world and encountered more dangers than many humans would in their life. Some of these encounters are difficult to understand - even for a dragon like me.
Many scholars, wizards, and sorcerers claim to understand what magic is. Yet a few could answer where it comes from and how it behaves, or transforms itself when situation is right. So let me tell you briefly (I know, time is short, especially because my friends will call upon my help very soon) of a battle I went through against a powerful Yuan'Ti spellcaster. As I was alone for the moment and unsure about how to deal with her, I decided to let her do her first move. As the fight started in a cave, I couldn't keep a good distance from her. When her first spell - intended to painfully strip the flesh from my bones - hit me, something strange happend: the spell energy caused a burning feeling in me, but it didn't do any harm. But my eyes started to glow with a burning orange color. Well, it wasn't the first time it happened. From another magic encounter, I still carried this burning energy in me. And when it came that I was in grave danger, the energy released in a bright white flash and burned my foe...Needless to say that the battle was won.
Now is your knowledge greater than mine? Can you explain where this energy came from? Can you give an advice how to harness it, to control it, and use it for the good cause?
If you can help me, you will earn the gratitude of a brass dragon. And another story from the far end of Faerûn..."
Ok, now the pure facts: I'm playing a very young brass dragon in a Forgotten Realms campaign. He has 7 HD as a dragon and now 4 HD as a bard (as brass dragons are very talkative creatures, I decided to advance him as a bard with high ranks in Perform (storytelling), Perform (keybord instruments; this because he once had the opportunity to play an old, really huge organ,... and I rolled a 20 on the check
), Diplomacy, Bluff, and Gather Information.
The feats are Eschew Materials (a bonus feat - house rule), Hover, Flyby Attack, Endurance, and Spellfire Wielder. For the next level, he'd take the PrC Spellfire Channeler from Magic of Faerûn/FRCS. Also, he'd have then 12 HD, and I have to choose a feat.
The dragon is not really aware of his spellfire power, and his friends also didn't have an answer on the sometimes strange effects the dragon had evoked in the past.
I'm not sure what feat may fit in respective for further development of the character. I may choose feats from PHB, DMG, Monster Manual I + II, the Complete Arcane, Adventurer, Divine, Warrior, Magic of Faerûn, FRCS, Player's Guide to Faerûn, and Epic Level Handbook.
Any ideas for feats, and further PC development are welcome!
