So the devils of DnD sound a lot like hollows from bleach. lol. sorry for those of you that don't know what that is but its true: they both eat the souls of humans, they both are evil, chaotic monsters, they are feared. Has anyone tried protaying devils to be like hollows, like the there sounds at least i was thinking about doing that just cause most of my DnD group would know what they are
I watched (and read the manga for) Bleach until the end of the Fake Karakura Arc. However, I've had to stop.
I don't think Hollows are all that cool or unique, actually, serving mainly as fodder for Aizen's plans. Their role was more plot-worthy than being nasty villains. They were starter villains (the very first thing Ichigo fought was a Hollow, and one killed his mother), they were used to demonstrate Ishida's prowess, helped power up two other characters, got eaten by an out-of-control sword, and ... that's it.
So if you can come up with a plot with Hollow-like demons, you have a good shot. I would recommend using them as starter villains like so:
At first, a relatively low-level solo demon attacks a city at night. It's going around, massacring random civilian minions, until the heroes turn up and put a stop to it. The heroes might have to spend more effort keeping civilians alive than actually fighting it; if you have a paladin, Divine Challenge could really rock here.
After this happens once or twice, the PCs will start looking for info. They'll talk to sages, or just make skill checks. Eventually
groups of demons attack. They're not solos, they're a bit higher level. Some of them are just feeding, others are attacking wizard towers and the like. Even those that are feeding are just "on break" from doing ... whatever plot you have in mind. (Failing to stop the plot would result in a Menos invasion.)
I can't go further. Hollows never had a plot of their own, and until arrancar popped up all over the place, I don't recall them having unique or special powers.
