D&D General The Enmity of a Devil (brainstorm help)

"of a devil" gives you a huge variance. It could be one of the mindless lesser devils hates you to the garnering the attention of a Archdevil. Sounds like the card is intentionally vague to give the DM plenty of room to play depending on how it feeds best into his game.

Did you not read the Flames Chapter of the Book of Many Things? Cause it goes into a lot of detail of how the fiends would try to make life worse for the pcs.

I did and I found it wanting. 🤷‍♂️

I also didn't much like the example fiends. I wish they had info about using existing ones and fewer new ones.

I ended up going with a Horned Devil I named "Kakoskaratos" (inspired by kakistocracy). I gave him a few more alias and roles and connected a faction in the character's backstory to a cult that worships this devil. So it is coming together.
