Devils... kinda lacking in the tempter department?

That in 3.5? They might've ditched the wings (don't go off the pic, that's just artist perogative)

Um, no, this is 3.0 (as I noted after the quote). But I have a hard time imagining that they removed the Erinyes' wings in the latest edition. I feel almost certain I'd have seen a thread about it:

"3.5 RANT: They stole my devil's wings!!!1!" :D

My idea was to have the Eryines use the polymorph ability to become different NPCs to have the PCs go on different missions for her. Enchantments grant saving throws which are suseptible to failure due to a decent saving throw. There is an elf in the party which makes matters worse. The only option seems to be to either give the Eryines a Ring of Polymorph Self or to use the possession rules in the BOVD.
Hmmm...

How about a half-fiend doppleganger? :) Gets you the polymorph you want, and the fiendish blood for make a tiefling.

Hmmm.... might have to consider it. I kind of wanted to go with a full blown devil though. In hell's heirarchy a half breed would be just one step above a Dretch (They are the lowest form of devils aren't they? I don't have my MM with me) and one step below an Imp.

Wouldn't a full-blown devil make a half-fiend, though?

Noting their special Charm ability, once you fail the Will save, you don't care if they've got wings, a tentacle beard or two cloven hooves.

If a devil is trying to get the PCs to commit an evil act so as to damn them then Charm won't work. An evil act carried out against your will isn't an evil act. It would be the same as stripping paladinhood from a paladin who killed someone while possessed. He didn't kill anyone, it was the possessing entity. Any truth revealing spell would prove that he didn't do it.

If in the end the devil gets the half-fiend's soul? Sure. I'm going to do a Darth Vader-esque thing though obviously at the end the devil isn't going to turn good like that wimp Vader did. :-)

Noticed this during an adventure conversion where the erinye is supposed to act as a tavern wench...
Use Erinyes with spellcaster levels or succubi ;)

Wait--this guy is a tiefling, not a half-fiend... so his most immediate hellish ancestor is definitely a half-fiend...
