(Edit - I have received a request from the originator of this email that his private emails not be distributed at EN World, and have editted it out accordingly. I have left your statement/policy intact, however. Thanks - Morrus)

... please feel free to use and update any and all material that I place up using the 1e rules for M&M Superlink to 2e. I feel it is better to get the information out to the people the way they want it. That is why all of my M&M Superlink products are fully OGL. For me it is not an issue. I will be placing this e-mail and response up at Green Ronin's M&M website in their M&M Superlink publishers section so all the M&M Superlink publishers will know this and can convert my products to 2e. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration which has lead me to rethink my situation on 2e.

THE SHORT ANSWER:

ANY AND ALL M&M SUPERLINK PUBLISHERS ARE FREE TO UPDATE ANY AND ALL OF THE 1e DEVIL'S WORKSHOP M&M SUPERLINK MATERIAL TO 2e.

All we ask is you send us a copy for our personal records. Thanks!

???

If all of the products are "fully OGL", I'm not sure why a special announcement would be needed.

Due to a email from another well known M&M Superlink publisher who felt that he would be "offending" me if he did my products as 2e. Like I said, I am all for it! Hope you find some stuff you like to convert to 2e.

Since you decided to spam the internet with private e-mail I may as well hop in here.

I not once used the word "offended." I simply stated that I did not feel it was appropriate for me to go through and collect massive amount of existing OGC for reuse, no matter how many people asked me to. I was making a point about how it is important for all members of the community to respect others and NOT work at undermining the efforts of someone else.

I strongly feel that it is inappropriate for any publisher to collect and reuse existing OGC for the sole purpose of injuring a fellow publisher. This includes the idea of releasing existing OGC for free, thus devaluing that material.

As I said in the e-mail just about everything we write is OGL, so people CAN use it. That is the reason for the license. I don't think when you put a few items in a product that is a fun giveaway to the fans of d20 OGL material that would be an issue. But you feel differently about that. I wanted to inform any one who might think I have an issue with them using our M&M Superlink material or even better want to do it, it was OK with me. That is why I did it. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you don't want people to use product anyway they choose to, just make it closed content. You have done that recently is several of your products, including your future products. No on is trying to injure you, Phil. I think you are more then a little sensitive in this area and you tend to overreact, like when you called me last time about hearing my podcast. Remember Phil when you needed help about getting an artist quick, I helped you. So why would you think I would want attack you now? It doesn’t make sense.

And I wouldn't have said a thing if the Section 15 had been correct. When fake titles are created for Ronin Arts releases -- how hard is it to get the title of a product correct? -- I feel I need to step in and point out the problem. While I was there I pointed out that thing, yet again, called respecting others and protecting the value of work.

There happens to be a PnM mecha that includes material for some of the exact same PDFs you were drawing from. They sell that release AND got the Section 15 correct. And you know what? That's pretty cool.

And what happen we were searching and replacing the word "Mecha" and changing it to "Mechanized Armor" and I accidentally changed the name of your products. A simple mistake. I apologize and it was an oversight by me.
