Diablo 3 Campaign

I'm starting a Diablo 3 campaign for my neighbor. He wants to play a Demon Hunter, so I thought something set in Sanctuary would work.

I'm just not sure what affect the destruction of the Worldstone should have. It was both suppressing the powers of the Nephale and tainted by Baal.

Any suggestions?

Mayhap there was never anything wrong with the worldstone. Maybe Tiriel has become corrupted from his time on earth. Maybe Tiriel destroyed the worldstone because he knew that without demonkind could swarm into sanctuary as easy as water from a broken pipe.

I'd say figure out how you want to run your campaign, and then have the destruction of the world stone aid whatever plot device you need.

You might also have shards of the destroyed worldstone scattered through the land. These could serve as power sources, loot, or mcguffins. Or all three.
