When I first started there was the Ka-pow dice. For three dollars I got two sets (6 no %) and I loaded up. Now, 16+ years later I buy roughly 1 set every 9 months or so. My son is starting to play so dice are beginning to become lost and need to be replenished. Last I knew I had over 25 sets and 100+ odd d6's and d10's.

I bought a set of seven dice when I started playing D&D four years ago. They are the only set I have ever owned, and they have quite the history. "Don't even let your dice touch Void's dice, they'll drain the luck right out!"

But I recently lost them :( I am diceless until I can stop by the FLGS.

I voted for every year, but it's probably not that often. I buy new dice when I realise that I don't have enough to roll something (say I'm playing a wizard who's gained a level so needs an extra d6 on his fireball), or when I realise that I've lost some.

I've not bought any dice in a couple of years now, but I do need some fairly soon - I've only got 2 d20's left!

I'm practically a heretic amongst my local group, in that I never purchase dice sets or proper dice bags. Instead, I have about two dozen vari-coloured dice from gaming stores' bargain bins, which I keep in a clear plastic pencil case, and purchase new dice only to replace lost ones. I do have one set of oversize dice, but I usually leave them at home.
