Did you know that, in addition to online magazines like EN5ider and TRAILseeker, EN World has its own Patreon? This Patreon is what funds the news page, and the various columnists who contribute to it. Your support for our community is very much appreciated!
EN World has been reporting on tabletop roleplaying game news, day-in-day-out, for nearly 20 years, since it was Eric Noah's Unofficial D&D 3rd Edition News, and is one of the oldest and largest tabletop RPG communities in the world. We have a roster of columnists, including Russ "Morrus" Morrissey, Darryl Mott Jr. (previously at Ain't It Cool News), Angus Abranson (industry veteran who co-founded Cubicle 7), Michael Tresca (formerly of The Examiner), and many more in a growing freelance pool! We also maintain one of the oldest original tabletop communities.
This patreon pays for our freelance columnists! Over the last months, we have been growing our pool of freelance columnists, who now bring you articles every day of the week! We currently feature columns from dozens of regular and semi-regular columnists on a wide variety of tabletop RPG topics. But we need funds to pay these columnists for their work. If you are a regular reader of EN World, please consider donating to this Patreon so that we can continue to feature articles from a wide and inclusive range of freelancers.
Early Access To Articles
Not only will you be supporting one of the original online RPG communities, and our ongoing news reporting efforts, but you'll also get early access to articles before everybody else!
We post RPG news, reviews, or articles every day, form the latest rumours and scoops to previews of upcoming games, and reviews of older classics. I think it's fair to say we provide some of the most comprehensive tabletop RPG coverage on the web. But all that costs money!
EN World's news will always be free. This Patreon will allow us to expand our coverage. We want to cover ALL the tabletop roleplaying game news for you. Whether you are a fan of D&D, Pathfinder, OSR, Star Wars, Shadowrun, Cypher System, World of Darkness, Fate, Savage Worlds, Warhammer, Star Trek, or more, we want to have you covered. And for those topics we already cover, we want to do more of it, in more depth.
We want to up our game. We believe that good reporting benefits and supports the hobby and the industry.
We also believe that strong, inclusive, moderated forums hold a valuable place in modern online environments, and are a strong choice for in-depth discussions about RPG topics in a safe environment.
That requires funding. EN World always pays its columnists. We want to bring you more articles from more columnists, providing the actual news (and not just the press releases) about your favourite tabletop roleplaying games. With your help, we'll expand our coverage to be a comprehensive, one-stop location for all your RPG news needs. We'll grow this into the professional, focused, journalistic publication that the RPG industry deserves! Our columnists are biting at the bit to be let loose and start working hard on keeping you informed.
EN World also created and hosts the Gen Con EN World RPG Awards every year, which is an entirely volunteer-driven, non-profit-making endeavour.
