Does anyone know of any good digital games tables. I have a friend and his group uses Klooge and they don't like it. They are looking for something better. Any ideas where I could guide him to?
I've been playing in 2 FG2 campaigns... good stuff
Anyhow, Battlegrounds (not free), Maptools (free) and Screenmonkey (i believe only the GM needs a copy... it runs via a web based interface) are the other main options.
Map Tool + Skype (for voice). Both apps are free and work as well as anything commercial and, in some cases, better (Skype call quality is much better than that of several commercial VOIP providers, IME).
I use d20Pro, Virtual Tabletop Gaming with d20Pro, which is not free. It is set up to do a lot of the math needed for 3.X automatically, which makes it great for that edition and less great for 4E.
From my observations FG2 and Maptools have the most active communities. If you are looking for a group, or looking to add a player or 2 to an existing group, these are your best bets.
Klooge looks very dated IMHO... I purchased my license years ago, only used it twice in pick up games of rolemaster.
