Digital Text Note taker?

So I used to have a Sharp Wizard OZ570 organizer. I loved it. Kept me organized, stored contacts, calender, notes, and had a full keyboard.

I was seduced by Palms, mostly for the back up ability. But it broke and I never used it enough to justify it anyway.

But lately I have had some down time in various places and I was thinking about a game and wanted to jot it down.

But I wanted to be able to copy that onto my computer later. So does anyone know of an inexpensive device, fairly small (pocket sized), preferrabley with a keyboard, that I could make small note files on and be abel to connect/transfer/send to my computer?

I would think a Netbook, like the eeePC would fit the bill nicely.

An older, cheaper 4G model seems especially appropriate and up to the task.
