I'd personally go the Monk or Barbarian for something different from your last class that wouldn't overlap too much with the other characters. I'm sure the party will work out some way to cover the lack of a rogue.
Agreed. You might want to throw on a couple of levels of pure fighter so that you can play around with the combat-oriented feats.

How about an elf warlock/paladin of freedom? (Warlocks can be CG, right?) Ask your DM if you can use the elf paladin racial substitution levels from Races of the Wild for some ranged smite evil fun.

Scout certainly has something going for it. Not the best class out there but certainly a decent one. Another option, a yellow haired boy with whiskers on his face, ninja with a possible fiend inside him. ;)

Come on you KNEW someone would suggest it eventually. ;)

I think it would be interesting to play an Archivist/Ranger in the mold of a travelling game hunter/scholar. There would be some nice synergies between the Archivist's knowledge abilities and the Ranger's favored enemy, you gain a lot of skill points, and some good utility magic. Your BAB would suffer from the Archivist levels, so take that into consideration when deciding if you want to focus more on the scholar aspect or the hunter aspect.

Make him a Human for the extra skill points, and you should be good to go!

Artificer is a great class, but only if your game is going to have enough downtime and a base of operations for creating magic items (and access to some of the Eberron specific feats to really enhance your crafting abilities). Otherwise its not really worth it. I think human is a better choice for it, but halfling might work as well if you can use something like an iron defender as a mount.

I too like the Warlock/Paladin idea, but it looks like your group really needs a rogue-type. Hmmm...can you use one of the feats that lets you multiclass freely as a monk? Try Monk/Rogue as the ultimate infiltrator. The downside there is that you wind up neededing great stats for everything. Imagine a secret order that arose in a land ruled by an oppressive warlord. There they worked to protect the poor, steal from the corrupt rich, and eventually restore the proper ruler to power. Now they travel the world seeking to end tyranny and oppression and restore justice and order.

What no love for the ninja?! :p

Eh Warlock/Paladin then. But seriously you're missing out on some good ideas here!

*Well either that or a guy that can cast 'true seeing' once per day. ;)*
